Cold Formed – Light Gauge Working Group
Discussions focus around light gauge steelwork; the design and fabrication of cold formed sections.
Frequency: Twice a year

This group looks at everything to do with the design and fabrication of steel connections in constructional steelwork.

Digital Technology Working Group
Looking at best digital working practices outside of the industry to adapt and adopt, areas important as introspective analysis, which includes robotics, 3D modelling and printing to assist in design and fabrication.

Fabrication and Welding Working Group
Everything related to 1090 part 2; welding issues, standards, training and apprenticeships and painting.
Frequency: Twice a year

Sustainability Working Group
Sustainability has become a big talking point through out the built environment, so this group looks at sustainability aspects of constructional steelwork like steel re-use. It was also instrumental in producing the Decarbonisation Roadmap.

Fasteners Working Group
Discussions focuses around bolts and the model purchase specification for bolts, ensuring fastener standards are met and adhered to.

Metal Decking Working Group
This working group looks at the installation of metal decking and training required to ensure competent and safe installers.

Steel Stockholders Working Group
This group discusses issues relevant to the supply of steel products through stockholders, NHSS 3B, and the model specification for the purchase of structural steel sections, plates and bars, ensuring quality and certification standards are met and adhered to.

Structural steel reuse working group
This Group represents all organisations active in the UK structural steel reuse supply chain. The aim is to share experience of steel reuse and to identify new guidance requirements relating to the safe reuse of structural steelwork.

Young Members Working Group
A working group for Younger employees of member companies to join, to help shape the future of the constructional steelwork industry and BCSA
