To select a steelwork contractor for tender lists there is no easier way of
prequalifying companies than using the Register of Qualified Steelwork Contractors
Scheme for Bridgeworks.
The Register should be used to select a steelwork
contractor who has the special skills to suit your bridgework or infrastructure project. BCSA’s experienced
professional assessors visit all companies to assess their capabilities in 11
sub-categories of bridge construction.
Note on Contract Guide Values:
Below is the option to filter companies by contract value – the size of the project they can undertake. This has been calculated through the RQSC assessment taking into consideration their annual turnover, net asset value, references (supply and erect steelwork contracts) and public liability insurance. This value is for works they can undertake in a calendar year – not for a project in its entirety. For example, if you are looking to shortlist fabricators to undertake a project with a value of £20,000,000 to be delivered over 2 years, then fabricators with a guide contract value of £10,000,000/£10,000,000+ are eligible to be shortlisted for your tendering purposes.
