BCSA is the national trade body and membership organisation for the constructional steelwork industry.
It has been representing structural steelwork contractors and associated companies in the UK and Ireland for over a century at a local, national and international level.
Steel for Life
Steel for Life is the UK structural steel sector’s market development initiative.
Supported through sponsorship by BCSA members, the primary purpose is to communicate and educate the industry on the advantages of specifying steel for buildings, bridgework and other structures – making it the material of choice.
Steel Construction Certification Scheme (SCCS)
The Steel Construction Certification Scheme is a UKAS accredited Certification Body.
SCCS provides certification and accreditation services to companies engaged in the design, manufacture and installation of structural steelwork and its associated products and services. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of BCSA Limited.

Structural Steel Design Awards (SSDA)
These annual awards promote and celebrate excellence within steel construction in the UK and Ireland.
SSDA demonstrate steel’s potential in terms of efficiency, cost effectiveness, aesthetics, sustainability and innovation. Each year’s entries reflect the increasingly high standards that are being achieved, not only in design and all aspects of fabrication, but also in short construction programmes, and accuracy on site.
New Steel Construction
NSC is published 10 times a year and circulated to the UK construction industry.
It provides a lively and up to date insight into the constructional steelwork industry. Each issue includes case studies on cutting edge projects, detailed reports on key topics influencing the sector, technical updates and new publication releases, design software updates and an industry news section.
